Approach In-depth understanding of business processes and best practices results in lower total cost-of-ownership. Ensuring that business value is being realized throughout the project, and most importantly in the end state deliverable is essential. Strategic Project Solutions is supported by formal training from Project Management Institute
CMAs have the unique training and experience in strategy, management and accounting that enables an innovative, integrating perspective to organizational decision-making. Designing and implementing technology solutions that are aligned to organizational goals is integral to the approach of Strategic Project Solutions. The combination of CMA and PMP is a powerful dynamic. Both designations share the formality of having structured approach. But having the business foundation enables us to assess if a project should be undertaken, and more importantly, assures that business value is produced at every step of the project. With a background in financial and human resources management, our focus is on designing and implementing business solutions for organizations. The “value-add” or “proposition offering” made to clients stems from having solid business experience which enables leadership over the design and development of effective business solutions. Simply put, we are empathetic to our clients needs because we’ve walked in their shoes! Business solutions often have three dimensions: people, process and systems. New systems are typically selected because the old systems no longer meet a client’s needs and may impair their growth (or worst case, provide a competitive disadvantage). These systems often require current technology, making the implementations more complex. An example is implementing a new accounting system that operates on an Oracle database (which may not exist in the organization) and requires integration with existing data marts. The new features often require new processes to be defined and implemented to take advantage of the technology. Business Models have to be defined to support the new systems. Detailed documentation, SWOT analysis, recommendations have to be completed for client approval. Once the systems, processes and models are defined, the people have to be assessed. Skills require upgrading. This leads to the application of change management. Skills need to be defined, gaps need to be assessed, and people need to be trained. Occasionally the new system leads to headcount reductions, and that process needs to be managed (i.e. who stays, who goes, who is capable of keeping up).
Because of the complexity of systems and changes within the business function, Strategic Project Solutions provides a bridge between the IT and the Business Community because we can speak in both worlds. With the combination of PMP, CMA and experience, organizations are assured of realizing superior results! |
